If you are looking for a set of high grip on-road wheels and tyres for your 1/10 scale Short Course truck then these highly versatile Street Fighters are a great option to fit 12mm, 14mm and 17mm hex drives
I ordered the 4PCS Upgraded Tires Wheels 12mm Hex Off-Road Short Course Truck from Banggood here. They are available in 4 colours
1/10 scale short course trucks are an excellent format for bashing about with. In general they have a good mix of performance on and off-road and the large size means the handling is more life-like. Arrma, Traxxas and many of the racing manufacturers have great offerings here. In general the bashing options have pretty disappointing tyres from stock but none moreso that the SG Pincone 1002s I reviewed recently here. These Streetfighter 1/10 scale Short Course Truck (SCT) wheels I've found recently offer a great alternative and fit practically any car in this scale. Read on for more.
This large scale 4wd Truck from Pinecone is well made and true to scale but makes for mixed performance results as an RC version which makes a hard sell at this price
SG / Pincone Forest is perhaps best known for the budget small scale drift cars that were so popular around 2 years ago, one of which I reviewed here: SG1604 / 1603 These little 1/16 scale brushed drift cars were low cost and a lot of fun but pretty cheap in build quality. The brand SG also appeared on the SG 1601 I reviewed here which was a rebranded HBX 16890 - brother of the HBX 16889a pro I rate so highly. These cars share no similarity other than brand and I can say this is the same with the 1002s SC / trophy truck as reviewed here too - this is a much higher quality build that reflects the much higher price point, a significant departure from the cheaper cars they've dabbled in before. *Note this is the same as the GOOLRC combo that is often recommended as a good budget option* Sorry for overly long title. I've now had the Surpass Hobby 3650 sized 3900kv brushless motor and 60A ESC Combo for about 3 months now and have thoroughly tortured it in a very large 1/10 scale 4wd short course truck (brushed version of the DHK Hunter here) for this review. With these electronics you can easily upgrade any 1/10 scale hobby grade rc car to brushless which for the uninitiated offers significantly more power, efficiency and if done right, durability over their brushless counterparts. This stands true for on-road tourers, pan cars and offroad buggies, SCTs, trucks (2 and 4wd). The only cars this would be unsuitable for is where very fine control is required - drift and crawlers come to mind. Read on for install and review. The "Surpass Hobby Waterproof 3650 3900KV Brushless RC Car Motor With 60A ESC Set For 1/10 RC Car" is available from Banggood and is the same as the GoolRC combo you hear about so much (which is on the right) A look at the gear The kit is very simple - a 4 pole brushless 3650 sized motor (540 in brushed terms) and a 60a ESC. The motor I reviewed is 3900kv which is a good all purpose size on common 2s batteries. The ESC is another simple waterproof affair with built in cooling fan. They are both waterproof according to the specs but personally I haven't and would not put the ESC to the test. The ESC can be programmed with common features but does require this programming card to change. Parameters that can be changed are: Instructions (click to enlarge)
